Student and Family Experiences

Field trips that involve the family can make a child’s experience in the natural world longer-lasting and more formative. Whether including parents on a school field trip or creating a weekend family trip, MARE believes in ocean sciences experiences for the entire family. To that end, our ¡Youth Experiencing the Ocean! program provides ocean sciences field trips for families to help build their understanding of local ocean habitats and marine stewardship. Parents also participate in hands-on workshops about how students learn, further enhancing parents' capacity for encouraging their children’s science learning.
